Event: Inter-tidal Walk at Big Sister Island
Date: Sunday, 15th June 2014 (Half Day)
Description: Explore the interesting coastal marine life with our nature guide at Big Sister Island. Be marveled by the various species of corals, sponges, anemones, starfish, shrimps and crabs. If you are lucky, you might even spot seahorses, octopuses and nemo fishes.
The intertidal zone, also known as the littoral zone, is the area that is above water at low tide and under water at high tide (in other words, the area between tide marks). In an unspoiled environment, this zone is usually rich in biodiversity and can include many different types of habitats, with many types of animals, such as starfish, sea urchins, and numerous species of coral.
Itinerary:
0550 hrs: Meet at Marina South Pier
0600 hrs: Depart from Marina South Pier
0630 hrs: Arrive at Big Sister Island and start exploration
0900 hrs: Wash up
0930 hrs: Depart from Big Sister Island
1000 hrs: Arrive at Marina South Pier
Cost: SGD 25 pax. Amount is inclusive of return boat ride to/from Big Sister Island
