BONDOWOSO – IJEN CRATER – CEMORO LAWANG
Your adventure begins with an early wake-up call at 2 am for the unforgettable Ijen night hike. A scenic 45-minute drive takes you to the Ijen ranger post, where your 1–1.5 hour trek begins under a starry sky. As you reach the crater rim, a surreal sight awaits—the vast, otherworldly crater glowing with the eerie blue flames of ignited sulfuric gas. Gaze upon the mesmerizing 200-meter-deep turquoise lake, one of the most acidic on Earth, and witness the incredible determination of miners carrying 70kg sulfur-laden sacks through the harsh volcanic terrain.
As the first light of dawn illuminates the crater, soak in the breathtaking sunrise before heading to Probolinggo. There, you will discover the majestic Madakaripura Waterfalls, a towering 200-meter cascade hidden within lush, misty cliffs—truly a sight to behold. End your exhilarating day with a drive to Cemoro Lawang, where you can unwind and recharge for the next adventure (approx. 4 hours’ drive)
For guests who wish to see the rare blue fire phenomenon closer up, an earlier departure around 12 am–1 am can be arranged. Please confirm this with your guide the night before so we can tailor the experience to your preference.

Day 03
CEMORO LAWANG – MOUNT BROMO – SURABAYA
At around 3 am, you will receive a wake-up call to prepare for an unforgettable Mount Bromo sunrise hike. An exhilarating 4WD ride brings you to Gunung Penanjakan (2,770m) on the edge of the Tengger Crater rim, where you will be captivated by the stunning sunrise over the Bromo landscape. Here, the dormant core of Mount Batok (2,440m) and the active Mount Bromo (2,329m) rise from the flat volcanic sand bed, with the mighty Gunung Semeru (3,676m) standing guard to the south.
After savoring the sunrise, continue your journey on the 4WD across the expansive Laotian Pasir (Sand Sea) to Poten—a charming Tenggerese Hindu temple beside Mount Bromo. From Poten, choose between a 3km hike or a pony ride to reach the base of Mount Bromo, then ascend 253 steep steps for a close-up view of the crater rim. Return to your lodge for a well-deserved breakfast.
Next, journey to Surabaya city (approx. 4 hours’ drive) and check in to your hotel for a short rest. Explore the historic House of Sampoerna—built by the Dutch in 1862—which now houses a museum, art gallery, café, and souvenir shops. Finally, embark on a food adventure in Surabaya, sampling local delights like rujak cingur—a unique salad with tapioca-peanut sauce and slices of cooked cow nose—and sate kelopo, satay drizzled with coconut sauce.
