Mount Ophir Group Climb (Sat, 11th April 2026)

Meeting Point: 430am at taxi stand outside Marsiling MRT Station

ITINERARY

430am – Pick up from Marsiling MRT Station by our friendly driver. (There will be no breakfast stop along the way. Kindly have your breakfast at home or bring some food to eat in the vehicle.)

730-800am – Arrive at Mount Ophir National Park and meet your mountain guide who will provide an introduction to the mountain and conduct a safety briefing. You will be required to declare the items that you are bringing up the mountain and provide a refundable rubbish deposit. A guide deposit also needs to be provided. This will be refunded as long as you complete the hike before 7pm. Inform the guide before the climb if you wish to have a climbing certificate. Deposit any stuff you do not wish to carry up to the mountain at the National Park office or in your vehicle.

830am – Start of climb.

130pm – Reach the summit and enjoy your lunch.

200pm – Start descending back to the mountain base.

630pm – Arrive at the mountain base, wash up and transfer to Tangkak town for dinner.

830pm – Head back to Singapore.

1130pm – Arrive at Marsiling MRT station.

Please note that all timings are estimated and subjected to actual ground conditions.

• Entrance fees, hiking permit, guide fees (1 mountain guide to 7 hikers ratio), climbing insurance (basic and mandatory insurance provided by national park)

HIKING GRADE

DIFFICULTY

A good level of fitness and/or trekking experience are recommended for this trek. Beginners who wish to hike this mountain should be comfortable with walking on slopes for prolonged hours. Other mountains in the same difficulty range would be Mount Belumut and Mount Nuang. A step down in the difficulty level would be Mount Datuk and Mount Angsi.  Check out our list of Gunungs in West Malaysia.

Important Things to Take Note:

1. Please be on time, as the vehicle will leave promptly and cannot wait for late participants. If you miss the tour due to late arrival, unfortunately, no refund can be provided.
2. There will be no stop for breakfast. Please have an early breakfast at home or bring some light snacks to eat in the vehicle. Kindly note that no pork items are allowed, as there may be Muslim participants.
3. For lunch, please bring some trail food to consume during the hike or at the summit. Recommended options include fruits (such as apples or bananas), energy bars, nuts and raisins, bread, etc.
4. For dinner, our driver will take you to an eatery in Tingkat town. Dinner is at your own expense. If you require halal food, please let us know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements with the driver.
5. To keep the group cost at a manageable level, there will be no Singapore-based tour leader. A Mount Ophir mountain guide will be assigned to the group upon arrival at Mount Ophir.
6. If you wish to receive a climb certificate (~ RM 10 each), please inform the Mount Ophir guide in advance before the climb.
