SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 01
Osaka
Upon arrival in Osaka, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is free at leisure to rest after your flight. Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy a relaxed stroll around the hotel vicinity or a simple local dinner.
Travel: Airport → Hotel (~1 hr transfer)
Overnight: Hotel in Osaka

Day 02
Osaka – Shirakawa-go – Takayama
Depart from Osaka in the morning and travel to Shirakawa-go (~4.5 hrs / 350 km). Explore the UNESCO-listed gassho-zukuri farmhouses. Continue to Takayama (~1 hr / 50 km) to visit Sanmachi Suji and Takayama Jinya.
Overnight: Hotel in Takayama

Day 03
Takayama – Gujo Hachiman – Nagoya – Kyoto
Visit Miyagawa Morning Market and Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine. Depart to Gujo Hachiman Castle (~2.5 hrs / 130 km). Continue to Nagoya Castle (~2 hrs / 120 km) before heading to Kyoto (~1 hr / 45 km).
Overnight: Hotel in Kyoto

Day 04
Kyoto
Explore Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and walk across Togetsukyō Bridge. Continue to Nishiki Market. Visit Kinkaku-ji and Nijō Castle.
Overnight: Hotel in Kyoto

Day 05
Kyoto – Amanohashidate – Kyoto
Drive to Amanohashidate (~2.5 hrs / 120 km). Walk/cycle along the sandbar and visit Kasamatsu Park. Continue to Ine (~45 min / 25 km) to see traditional boathouses. Return to Kyoto (~2.5 hrs / 130 km).
Overnight: Hotel in Kyoto

Day 06
Kyoto – Miyama Kayabuki no Sato – Osaka
Depart Kyoto in the morning for Miyama Kayabuki no Sato (~1.5–2 hrs / 60 km). Explore the preserved thatched-roof village. In the afternoon, travel to Osaka (~1.5 hrs / 70 km).
Overnight: Hotel in Osaka

Day 07
Osaka – Tottori – Osaka
Depart Osaka (~3 hrs / 220 km) to Tottori. Visit Tottori Sand Dunes and The Sand Museum. Optional: visit a seasonal flower park. Return to Osaka (~3 hrs / 220 km).
Overnight: Hotel in Osaka

Day 08
Osaka / Nara / Kobe (Optional Day Trips)
Option 1: Visit Nara (~1 hr / 35 km) for temples and deer park.
Option 2: Visit Kobe Harborland, Sannomiya, and Mount Rokko (~1 hr / 30–40 km from Osaka).
Overnight: Hotel in Osaka

Day 09
Osaka
Visit Kuromon Ichiba Market. Afternoon is free to explore Namba, Shinsaibashi, or relax at the hotel.
Overnight: Hotel in Osaka

Day 10
Osaka
At the appointed time, transfer to the airport (~1 hr) for your departure flight, concluding your Japan private tour.

Breathtaking scenery & fun-filled adventure. I must give a loud shout-out to the people who made this trip 200% enjoyable. Big thanks to Bob from IWT for the careful planning so we made full use of the limited time there. Zain is very knowledgeable as the local guide and when we asked for a massage, he said to bring us to the best massage place in Berastagi. He didn't let us down. Kudos to driver Diza for always being punctual and getting us around in speedy fashion. Man of few words cause he's focused on the road for safety. Lastly, forever thankful to the man who probably saved our lives, very experienced hiking guide Bayu. We're amateurs w/o any gear and tried to climb Mt Sibayak wearing only t-shirt, shorts & running shoes during the wet season. He got us hiking sticks & torchlights, told us exactly where to step at tricky terrains, had spare clothing for us to keep warm, even had hot tea & snacks.
