ITINERARY

Day 01

SINGAPORE – SURABAYA – CEMORO LAWANG

Fly direct from Singapore Changi Airport to Juanda International Airport in Surabaya. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by our friendly local tour guide before embarking on a comfortable drive to Cemoro Lawang (approximately 3.5 hrs drive). Check in hotel and rest early in preparation for the sunrise excursion the following morning.

Day 02

MOUNT BROMO – LUMAJANG

You will receive an early morning wake‑up call at around 3 am to prepare for a magical Mount Bromo sunrise experience. An exciting 4WD jeep ride will take you up winding volcanic tracks to the renowned Penanjakan viewpoint at the edge of the Tengger Crater Rim (about 2,770 m), where you will be perfectly positioned to witness one of Java’s most breathtaking sunrises. Watch in awe as golden light spreads across the dramatic volcanic landscape, highlighting Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and the distant Mount Semeru. After the sunrise, your adventure continues as you travel in the 4WD across the surreal Sea of Sand (Lautan Pasir) toward Pura Luhur Poten, a serene Tenggerese Hindu temple nestled beside Mount Bromo. From here, you have two options to reach the base of Mount Bromo: a 3 km walk across volcanic plain or a pony ride, both leading to the iconic staircase. Once at the staircase, a climb of about 253 steps brings you up to the crater rim, where you will be rewarded with incredible close‑up views of the active volcano and its powerful natural beauty. Return to the hotel for breakfast before driving to Lumajang (approx. 3 hrs drive).

Day 03

TUMPAK SEWU – BONDOWOSO

After breakfast and checking out from your hotel, you will set off for one of Indonesia’s most breathtaking natural wonders—Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, also known as Coban Sewu. This extraordinary waterfall plunges 120 meters in a majestic semi‑circular curtain, creating the illusion of a thousand waterfalls flowing at once, framed against lush ridges with Mount Semeru rising proudly in the distance. Your first highlight is the panoramic viewpoint, where you will be greeted by an awe-inspiring vista—perfect for photos and soaking in the sound of cascading water. From there, adventurous travellers may descend into the canyon to explore Goa Tetes, a mystical cave complex filled with dripping limestone formations, cascading mini-waterfalls, and crystal-clear natural pools. After your waterfall adventure and lunch, enjoy a scenic drive to your hotel in Bondowoso (approximately 5 hrs drive), where the dramatic landscapes of Ijen await you next.

Day 04

IJEN CRATER – SURABAYA

Start the day with an early wake-up call around 2am as we prepare for an unforgettable Ijen crater experience. A comfortable 45-minute drive brings you to the Ijen ranger post at the trailhead, where your trek begins. Over the next 1 to 1.5 hours, tou will ascend to the crater rim, greeted by spectacular views of the vast volcanic crater and its mesmerizing turquoise sulfur lake—one of nature’s most striking sights. From this dramatic vantage point, you will also see local sulfur miners in action—people who work tirelessly in challenging conditions to extract sulfur and carry heavy loads back up the mountain. After enjoying the sunrise and taking in the breathtaking panorama, you will be transferred back to Surabaya Airport (approx. 6 hrs. drive) for your flight home.

For guests who wish to see the rare blue fire phenomenon closer up, an earlier departure around 12 am–1 am can be arranged. Please confirm this with your guide the night before so we can tailor the experience to your preference.

This was a magical trip that would be fondly remembered for years. Breathtaking scenery & fun-filled adventure.

I must give a loud shout-out to the people who made this trip 200% enjoyable.

Big thanks to Bob from IWT for the careful planning so we made full use of the limited time there.

Zain is very knowledgeable as the local guide and when we asked for a massage, he said to bring us to the best massage place in Berastagi. He didn't let us down.

Kudos to driver Diza for always being punctual and getting us around in speedy fashion. Man of few words cause he's focused on the road for safety.

Lastly, forever thankful to the man who probably saved our lives, very experienced hiking guide Bayu. We're amateurs w/o any gear and tried to climb Mt Sibayak wearing only t-shirt, shorts & running shoes during the wet season. He got us hiking sticks & torchlights, told us exactly where to step at tricky terrains, had spare clothing for us to keep warm, even had hot tea & snacks.
