Day 03

BANYUWANGI – BALURAN NATIONAL PARK – BANYUWANGI

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to the mainland for your safari adventure at Baluran National Park (approx. 2 hrs drive). Often called “Africa van Java” or “Little Africa of Java,” the park is a unique biosphere where three distinct ecosystems—savannah, mangrove forest, and marine—exist side by side. Begin your exploration at the Bekol Savannah viewpoint, where you can observe herds gathering at the water hole to quench their thirst. For a panoramic perspective, climb the observation tower for a full 360° view of the savannah, with the imposing dormant volcano Mount Baluran (1,247 m) forming a dramatic backdrop. In the afternoon, continue to Bama Beach, a secluded white sandy beach untouched by mass tourism. The beach is bordered by a healthy coral reef offshore, and its calm, flat waters are ideal for swimming or canoeing. A scenic bird-watching trail also links the beach to the savannah through the lush mangrove forest, providing a perfect opportunity to experience the park’s diverse wildlife and landscapes.
